Heathrow Airport
Heathrow was the first commercial airport in the world to launch a mission critical 4G LTE network on its airfield. The network was designed, built and is operated by UK Broadband.
“We are proud to be at the forefront of airport innovation by introducing this technology. This new platform enables a significant step change in efficient working out on the airfield and builds a greater resilience within our safety, security, engineering and incident management teams.”
Derek Provan, Airside Operations Director, Heathrow Airport
UK’s Largest Container Port
The UK’s largest container port is responsible for over 40% of the country’s containerised trade. UK Broadband’s Private 4G LTE network connects the quayside cranes and dock vehicles to the port management system, allowing the port to keep running 24/7, 364 days per year.
A Major Shipping Company
UK Broadband provides a private LTE network to a major shipping company’s freight terminal in the UK, using 4G and an on-site core. The UK Broadband network keeps vehicles and people connected to central management systems when they are outside on the port, below decks on docked vessels, ships and inside warehouses.
Swindon Borough Council
UK Broadband operates the wide area corporate network for Swindon Borough Council. This network connects council offices, care homes, schools, libraries and other civic buildings to each other, to council cloud applications and to the wider Internet. The network uses a combination of UK Broadband LTE, ADSL, microwave and fibre links to provide seamless and secure connectivity.
In addition, UK Broadband operates a wholesale superfast broadband network in the Swindon Area. Funded in part by Swindon Borough Council and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the network improves access to broadband for Swindon residents, particularly those in rural areas surrounding the town.
